The Needy Needs Us

The Needy Needs Us

Sometimes I wonder, I wonder about our society, the place where we all live. I wonder about all ups and downs, the bright and the dark spots on our society’s face. I think about people who are too rich and even about people with nothing around them. We just sit in our chairs with a cup of tea or coffee and start commenting about the mismanagement and then try to give suggestions while reading the newspaper or watching any news channel. People these days are concerned about the formation of government, but I think we should first focus on lifting up our society. Selecting a representative who is elected by us just only won’t bring our nation to higher levels. Just think about those who need, the basic need of food, shelter and clothing. We talk about young minds, warm blood which can change the fate of our nation. But are we watching what we are crossing in our day to day life? I think no!

Just think of something. We people love the rains. But did we ever imagine how difficult is to live for a person in rainy season who don’t have a house. These poor people who live on roads, under bridges might be cursing god to add up to their problems, yet they manage a smile over their face. We people love winters. We want to have a walk with our loved ones late in the night while talking, having fun with cool breeze swirling side by side but for those poor ones, did we ever think about them? They can’t afford a blanket or a warm quilt so they shiver all night murmuring and praying to god for a source of heat, either be it a warm blanket or a bonfire. Some things which are so exquisite or beautiful for us, are nightmare for them, and yet they never complain, they just accept their life thinking it as their fate or destiny.

If we all feed a needy once a week, what happiness and change we could bring to this world. If only making someone smile could be our motive, then what achievement we could nurture. It’s not about doing or trying to bring the big and huge changes so suddenly, but it’s about the small things which can light up a shepherd’s home. The greatest joy, is bringing a smile on anybody’s face. Guys I just want that we understand this fact and try to help our society so that we can lift up a wounded and paralysed society and act as medicines and hope to make our society walk on its legs again.

I wrote a poem to end this up.

Sometimes when i am wandering on these streets
I find some unlucky ones trying to live in this society's heat
A very depressing gush swirls inside my heat
Can this dark spot on our humanity be ever apart
These people are so helpless yet they manage to have a smile
And we, who have everything, are sad after conquering so many miles
I wish if everybody could do something for them
They don’t care about good or bad if they can feed their family well
These poor children live their lives to its fullest without any tension
And all their parents worry is about how to get shelter from this rain
This poverty, it’s a shame on us and our society
That we are too poor to help them and revive some life
We crave to achieve a lot in this world
But still they try to fight with that succumb
The small things we can do for them is nothing
But for them it may be heaven in disguise
Bringing smile over a sad face cause the best happiness
And try it once to feed a needy and give them the time of their life
